The devotion to the Virgin of the Rosary was promoted by the Dominican order, dedicating a chapel to her in each of their convents. In Mexico, this tradition continued when the first Dominican friars arrived in 1526. However, it wasn't until 1531 that they began constructing their first significant temple in Puebla, also dedicated to the Archangel San Miguel. Nevertheless, the Rosary Chapel was conceived in 1650 and consecrated in 1690.
