Centro Histórico de Tepic
In the beautiful historic center of Tepic, buildings such as the Plaza de Armas, the Government Palace and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Concepción stand out. The Government Palace was initially constructed as a prison between 1870-1885; some of the original spaces still remain. It is a two-story building with high windows and balconies. The center of the façade is topped by a wide pediment with a clock. La Catedral de Tepic is a majestic temple with a neo-Gothic façade and two twin towers, completed in 1885 to replace a temple built in the mid-18th century. It was consecrated by Pope Leo XIII in 1891. Inside, the altar and the chapel of the Santísimo stand out, in neoclassical style, as well as the stalls of the choir and some paintings from the viceregal period.

This former convent on Tepic-Xalisco Boulevard is famous for housing the venerated Cruz de Zacate. The grass is a species of grass that grows to form a tall and dense lawn that is widely used in gardening. In the 1780s, a Franciscan convent was built near the site that would become the most important in the region, the place from which Saint Junípero Serra left on his evangelization missions in northern Mexico. Currently, the space where the Cruz de Zacate is located is surrounded by offerings brought by parishioners.
